Bruce Burnham has successfully navigated the Group, Life and Property & Commercial insurance sectors for over 40 years. With a background in Business from the University of Western Ontario, Bruce began his career as a Branch Manager at Sun Life. He then moved to Farrow Insurance Agencies Ltd. in London, Ontario to set up the Life and Group Insurance divisions. This position provided Bruce with the experience needed to create Programmed Insurance Brokers Inc. (PIB) in 1980.
The company's main objective at that time was to provide Group Insurance, Life Insurance and Retirement programs to one major account - Home Hardware Stores Limited. PIB’s focus has expanded rapidly since then. Today, under Bruce's direction, the organization provides insurance and financial services to a diverse client base across Canada.

He has been recognized for outstanding efforts including:

  • A founding member and past Vice President of the Third Party Administrators' Association of Canada (TPAAC)
  • Life and Qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)
  • 2012 recipient of the RCL Certificate of Merit for outstanding contributions made to the Royal Canadian Legion
  • Honorary Member of the London Police Association, based on his work with Crime Stoppers and the London Police Association.  In 2019, Bruce was presented with both the namesake, and first recipient, of the LPA’s Bruce Burnham Award of Excellence.
  • Awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013
  • Appointed the Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the 4th Battalion of The Royal Canadian Regiment in October of 2017
  • A member of the Board of Directors to The Legion National Foundation in Ottawa

Bruce is well-known for his ability to recognize and seize opportunities in the insurance industry, a talent which has served him well and will continue to drive PIB's success in the years to come.
