Our Business Insurance team works closely with companies of all sizes to design customized coverage that protects their operations, assets, and long-term growth. The Group Benefits team helps employers support their people with flexible, cost-effective benefit plans. Drawing on decades of experience and strong market relationships, this team of specialists advises on everything from plan design to ongoing program optimization. Known for proactive service and strategic insight, they help businesses attract and retain top talent through benefits that truly deliver.

Focused on employees’ future financial security, the Group Retirement team partners with employers to develop and manage retirement programs that support their workforce. This team brings specialized knowledge in pension plans, Deferred Profit Sharing Plans (DPSPs), Group RRSPs and compliance, working collaboratively with HR teams and plan members. Their goal is simple: empower employees to retire with confidence and clarity.

PIB’s Wealth Management team offers investment and financial planning expertise to help clients grow and protect their financial future. Led by a team of advisors, they deliver customized strategies spanning retirement planning, tax efficiency, income planning, succession planning, estate planning and more. Whether working with individuals, families or business owners, their advice is grounded, client-first and designed for long-term success.

This team specializes in helping clients plan for the unexpected. The Life & Health Insurance team works with individuals and business owners to build customized insurance solutions that provide financial protection in the face of illness, injury, or loss. With a team of advisors serving clients across the country, they combine empathy, expertise and long-term planning to help clients make confident decisions for the people who count on them.

The Personal Insurance team offers trusted advice and tailored protection for individuals and families. Whether it’s home, auto or specialty coverage, this team brings a personal touch, deep product knowledge and fast service to every client interaction. With over 30 years of experience in insurance and financial services, Darlene is PIB’s President and Chief Executive Officer. She is committed to delivering exceptional service and tailored solutions that help PIB’s clients grow, protect and thrive. At the core of PIB’s industry-leading approach is the Power of Six—six integrated business units offering holistic, future-focused advice to individuals, families and businesses across Canada. Darlene leads with integrity, empowers her team through vision and accountability and is passionate about building lasting partnerships that drive meaningful impact.

Dave has been a driving force at PIB since 1994, combining his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation and investment expertise with a client-centric approach. As Chief Investment Officer and Branch Manager for PIB Wealth Management, he leads the firm’s investment direction and manages the PIB Portfolio Series—five customized fund-of-funds solutions. Dave also developed the PIB Retirement Income RoadMap, designed to help clients confidently answer, “Will I be OK?” In his role as Executive Vice President of Strategy, he collaborates across all business units to ensure PIB’s vision is aligned, innovative and always focused on delivering a seamless client experience.

With over two decades of experience in insurance and wealth management, Jeff leads PIB’s national business development strategy. He’s known for building strong partnerships, empowering broker teams and delivering tailored solutions across personal, commercial and group markets. Jeff’s leadership is grounded in service, collaboration and a passion for exceeding expectations—always aiming to motivate, inspire and engage.

Matthew brings over 20 years of financial services experience to his role at PIB, where he leads strategy and growth across Wealth Management, Life Insurance, Group Benefits and Group Retirement Services. He began his career as a financial advisor and has since built a strong reputation for empowering high-performing teams and delivering client-centric solutions. Matthew is known for his collaborative leadership style, strategic mindset and commitment to helping advisors and clients achieve long-term success.

Jessica brings 18 years of finance expertise, primarily in financial services, to her role. Starting her career in Big 4 audit, she transitioned to the financial services industry 14 years ago, where she has been a driving force in financial transformation. Her leadership is guided by a people-first philosophy, fostering trust and respect to maximize engagement. She champions a collaborative approach, valuing diverse perspectives to achieve the best strategic outcomes and elevate Finance beyond traditional accounting.
Carmin Lakhanpal, CHRL
Carmin brings over 25 years of HR experience — 15 of those in the insurance industry — and is known for her collaborative leadership and people-first mindset. A Wilfrid Laurier graduate and Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), she has led national HR strategies, supported major transformations and helped build inclusive, high-performing cultures. Carmin is passionate about mentoring others, creating environments where people thrive and bringing vision to life through teamwork and compassion.
